Milpitas: Trojans soccer falls to Fremont

Boys basketball trails early in loss

Taking on 1st place Fremont on Feb. two the Milpitas High boys varsity soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to the host Firebirds.

At home on Jan. twelve Milpitas lost 2-1 to Fremont in what coach Bill Leffler described as a spirited game. The 2nd time around against the Firebirds, the Trojans played well with a solid game by junior goalie Mariano Robles.

Sophomores Jose Perez, Raul Villalobos and Miguel Diaz played strong in the center and left side of the middle of the field, Leffler said. Diaz scored on a long free kick placed in the far upper corner of the net to tie the match at 1-1.
